Greater Elizabeth Area Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Master Plan
Role: Lead Graphic Designer
Scope: Branding • Public Engagement • Publication Design • Information Design
To support a long-term vision for community parks and recreation, I developed a comprehensive visual identity and communication toolkit for the Greater Elizabeth Area Parks, Recreation, Open Space & Trails (PROST) Master Plan. Beginning with a custom logo and branding inspired by the surrounding Colorado landscape, I created report templates, page layouts, infographics, public engagement boards, flyers, and social media graphics that helped communicate the project’s vision and encourage community participation.
What I Contributed: Visual Identity • Publication Design • Information Design • Public Engagement Materials • Templates • Accessible Document Design
Building the Brand
With limited design time and no dedicated branding scope, I needed to establish a complete visual system quickly—and make sure it could support everything that followed. Inspired by the area's mix of prairie, agricultural land, pine forest, and western character, I explored four initial logo concepts before narrowing in on the final mark. From there, I developed the supporting color palette, typography, logo variations, and accessibility guidance to create a flexible system that could carry the project from early outreach through the final plan.
Putting It to Work
Once the visual system was established, I put it to work across the planning and public engagement process. I developed reusable InDesign and Word templates alongside flyers, survey promotions, engagement boards, event materials, social graphics, and stickers, adapting the system to different audiences, formats, and stages of the project. Working closely with planners, landscape architects, and public engagement consultants across multiple offices, I was able to turn around new materials quickly while maintaining a consistent visual language throughout the project.
Bringing It Together
The final plan brought the visual system together across a substantial, information-heavy publication. I designed page layouts, maps, tables, infographics, and supporting visual elements that organized everything from community input and demographic data to parks inventories and planning recommendations. Working closely with the planning team through final revisions, I then helped take the completed document through a large-scale QA/QC process in Bluebeam Revu, ensuring the final publication was consistent, accessible, and ready for public release.
